Your Wilderness Photography Guide ...
My Passion for Epic Landscapes
I fell in love with the Canadian wilderness as a young boy growing up on the wild north shore of Lake Superior in northern Ontario. The back yard of our family home opened up to expansive views of the world's largest freshwater lake, and if you walked out our front door, there was nothing between you and the Canadian arctic but two measly roads and about 3,000 km of granite highlands, dense forests, endless lakes and raging rivers.
I dedicated myself to wilderness landscape photography as a teenager and by the age of 19 I was hand-printing my own Cibachrome prints and selling them in art galleries in southern Ontario. To pursue ever better photos, I would paddle my canoe or kayak along rivers and lakes and then hike or backcountry ski to beautiful vistas and locations. (Yes, you read that right. I would paddle along the open waters of Lake Superior in winter and then land my canoe on a beach, put on my skis, and take off along the frozen shoreline!)
Fast forward a few decades and I now offer my lifetime of wilderness exploration experience to people who want expert photography and wilderness touring leadership in the mountains of western and northern Canada, in particular the Canadian Rockies, northern British Columbia, and the Yukon.
As a certified guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, I have permits (and $7,000,000 of liability insurance) to take my clients throughout over twenty national and provincial parks covering an area nearly the size of Switzerland (over 30,000 sq. km) in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. With me as your guide, this is your playground! -- not to mention further extensive areas where I can guide you in northern BC and the Yukon -- an area larger than California, Washington State, Texas, and Germany combined!
So if you are looking for a guide to the best of the Canadian northwest, please get in touch to talk about my small group tour packages or to discuss private guiding services.
